My Name
Hi there. My name is Adams (yes, it's my first name, and yes, it has an "s" on the end of it*). I'm a Philadelphia-based illustrator with an interest in anthropomorphized animals and Disney's golden eras. A History of Drawing As a kid, I drew in school when I should have been taking notes, on placemats when my family and I went out to dinner, and in the car during family trips. It's a passion of mine that I probably should have grown out of, but here we are. Tools I tend to alternate between hand drawing and digital painting. When I'm drawing by hand, I use a mechanical pencil, Micron markers, and off-brand alcohol-based markers. When I'm on a computer, I use a Surface Pro 4 or Wacom Intuos 4. Inspiration My all-time hero is Alex Ross, but I've also spent a lot of time studying Bill Watterson, Brian Kesinger, and watching Futurama way too many times. Free Time When I'm not drawing, I try to spend quality time with my son Nolan. I also work on original music, portrait photography, and video production. I'm passionate about great movies and documentaries. |
*My mom thought we were related to John Adams, and decided to name me "Adams" instead of "John" because if I was named "John," no one would ever ask me where I got that name. Mom had a strange sense of humor.
